As well as cultivating a welcoming social atmosphere on the allotments for our members, our Allotment Associations help the wider community in various ways:

We have held events to raise money for charities such as the Air Ambulance, Mary Ann Evans hospice, and Macmillan nurses.

Associations have helped to make gardens at schools and the hospital. We also grow food and collect produce to donate to food charities such as Edible Links and the local hospice.

Schools and nursery schools have visited the allotments to see how food is grown and to marvel at the size of rhubarb leaves and sunflowers.

Some associations have social facilities which we make available to all sorts of community groups:

- Sea Cadets when training on the canal

- as a base for amateur radio enthusiasts taking part in a national competition

- company employees taking part in team building events and helping on site

- the Nuneaton Art trail

- social groups such as seniors' lunch clubs

If you represent a community group, all associations will welcome contact and if we have facilities that are useful to you we try our best to make them available to your group.
